Background
Detroit People's Task Force, Inc. Community Development Corporation (CDC) (DPTF) is a private, non-profit, community collaborative organization. It was formed in early 2009. This organization serves as a prisoner's advocate to improve the quality of life, as well as social and economic circumstances surrounding those wrongfully convicted and their families.


Mission
Their mission is to serve as liaison between civil and governmental entities as well as the community, in order to provide programs and services in such areas as housing, legal and social illnesses, awareness, and prevention education (i.e. substance abuse, diseases, job training, etc.).


Goals
This organization will meet the needs of the community by working to free the wrongfully convicted, provide housing, reduce violence, drug abuse, illiteracy, low-self esteem, unemployment, poor health, and to fight for justice.

Neighborhood Rehabilitation
This organization will provide low cost, single, multi-family housing and related services for low to moderate income tenants or buyers. They will continue to develop and provide rehabilitated housing for the low or moderate income providing them with an opportunity to own, maintain, or lease. They will also develop, sell, or transfer housing projects for low to moderate income renters under the authority of the Michigan State Housing Development Authority.

(Teaching Inmate Mothers Empowerment),
Court Watchers, Jury of Our Peers, Career Development.
